Wilson McElveen was born on Friday, May 5, 1950 to the late Woodrow and Lou Annie McElveen in Pamplico, South Carolina.

He was educated in the public schools of Florence County School Systems. Wilson was employed by Florence County School District 2 and retired after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Genesis Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J. Daryl Wood.

Wilson was  united in Holy matrimony to the former Margaret Burch and to this union they were blessed with three children.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, Mr. McElveen entered into eternal rest at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his sister, Rosa Lee McElveen.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Margaret Burch Wilson of Pamplico, SC; two sons, Christopher Burch of Charlotte, NC and Wilson James McElveen of Pamplico, SC; a daughter, Audrey McElveen of Pamplico, SC; six sisters, Sarah Lou McElveen, Esther Lee Wade, Pearlie (Tommy) Ross, Mary (Llyod) Williams of Englewood, NJ and Deborah McElveen-Dawson of Columbia, SC and Cynthia (Raymond)  Singleton of Conyers, GA; three brothers, Willie James (Carol) McElveen of Montgomery, AL, Luther Fleming McElveen of Pamplico, SC and Woodrow (Mary) McElveen, Jr. of West Columbia, SC; special family members, Shamyia Aurihana McElveen, Jahreon Damon Burch, Vanlil Flavian Burch and Devin Jontell Daniels, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
