A Time To Be Born

Ethenia Lawson Wright King was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1926 in Clarendon County to the late Felix & Mammie Wright.

 

A Time To Die

God called Ethenia home on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 12:02PM after a lengthy illness at Tuomey

Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.

 

A Time To Grow

Ethenia was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated from the Historic Scott’s Branch High School, Summerton, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of St. Mark A. M. E. Church in

Summerton, SC where she served as a Steward, Treasurer of the Missionary Ministry, Member of the Senior Choir and YMCA/ YWCA.  In 1970 she became a member of Queen of the South No. 304, Order of the Eastern Star and has served in several positions. Until her illness, Ethenia served as owner of King Funeral Home in Summerton, SC.

 

A Time To Love

Ethenia was formerly married to Robert V. Holliday and from this union, three children were born: Laura Ann McFadden, Robert E. Holliday and Gloria Holliday. Laura & Robert, proceeded her to the grave.

In 1969, Ethenia married the late Larry Daniel King, Jr., former owner of King Funeral Home, and together they shared: LaVern King, Laura McFadden, Robert E. Holliday & Gloria Holliday.

 

A Time To Morn

Ethenia leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Gloria Holliday of the home and LaVern King of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Subrena (Anthony) Smith, Rondell Holliday, Ricardo McFadden, Nicole Holliday and Dietrick Holliday; three sister-in-laws; cousins that were very dear to her, Albert “AC” and Phyllis Lawson, Ida Richardson, Rosa, Margaret and Henrietta Ragin; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

A Time To Embrace

We love you Ethenia “Ma-Ma” but God loves you best, death is a stepping stone to a greater reward.
