LeDray Altereese Sampson was born on February 12, 1974 in Clarendon County to Leon Richburg and Elouise Olivia Sampson.
Dray was reared in a Christian home by his grandmother Louise Sampson, where he attended church and served on various youth ministries including the Junior Choir and the W. T. Johnson Ensemble.
“Biggie” as he was affectionally called was an outstanding athelete in high school. He dominated basketball court and was a force to be reckoned with on the football field.
Dray was a very loyal, devoted and loving father of four amazing children: Drevon, Drayvion, Drayana and MyDraya. He was engaged to be married to MyChel Austin, the love of his life for the past 8 years.
Family meant everything to Dray and his loyalty and commitment to his family was evident in his actions.
On Tuesday, May 2, 2017, LeDray entered into eternal rest in Columbia, South Carolina. He was proceeded in death by his younger brother Leon Richburg, Jr.
He leaves to mourn his passing, four children: Drevon, Drayvion, Drayana and MyDraya Sampson; two step children: Ma’Kell and Shaniya Pack; his fiancé, MyChel Austin of Columbia, SC; a loving mother, Eloise Sampson of Augusta, GA; his father, Leon Richburg, Sr. of Manning, SC; his grandmother, Louise Sampson of Summerton, SC, an aunt who was like a second mother, Brenda Sampson of Summerton, SC; four sisters, Myra Sampson of Augusta, Ga, Jocelyn R. (Onta) Parson of Sumter, SC, Monica Watson and Lawinza (Carlos) James, both of Manning, SC; three brothers, Chay Bennett of Summerton, SC, ChaHee A. Sampson and James H. Sampson, both of Augusta, GA; extended sisters, Auji Phillips and Kim Phillips of Brooklyn, NY and Sonji Black of White Plains, NY; nine aunts, five uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
