Lila Mae Oliver Brock was born on Monday, December 23, 1935 in Clarendon County to late Harry and Sarah Green Oliver.

She attended the public schools of Clarendon County.

​

Lila Mae began her Christian journey at Historic Liberty Hill A. M. E. Church, Summerton, SC and later joined St. Mark A. M. E. Church, Summerton, SC.

​

Lila Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Leon Brock, Sr. to this union five children were born.

​

Lila Mae’s life journey came to an end on Friday, September 28, 2018 at McLeod Hospice, Florence, SC. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary E. Brock; five brothers, Sammie Lee Oliver, Ernest Oliver, Aaron Oliver, Herbert Oliver and George Oliver; two sisters, Lillie Mae McDonald and Mary Lee Stevenson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Willie (Pearl) Oliver of Archdale, NC, Jeanette Brock of Columbia, SC, Leon Brock of Summerton, SC and Burnell Brock of Ridgeville, SC; three sisters, Ella Allen of Manning, SC, Eliza Nelson of Davis Station, SC and Catherine (Reverend Willie) Starks of Summerton, SC; Three sisters-in-law, Carrie Lee Oliver and Christine Oliver both of Manning, SC and Mary Lee Johnson of Hollandale, FL; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and countless cousins whom she deeply loved.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her son, Leon Brock, 13 Hill Street, Summerton, SC.
